Robin crosses swords with the evil Sir Guy of Gisbourne (Basil Rathbone). Flynn took pride in doing most of his own stunts and dueling.

Robin is knighted by King Richard (Ian Hunter) for his valor, as adoring Maid Marian (Olivia deHavilland) approves.
