SENT A LETTER TO MR. CAGNEY OVER 30 YEARS SENT ME BACK A SIGN POST CARD. HE WAS THE BEST THEY BROKE THE MOLD. I ONLY WISHED I COULD HAVE MET HIM .

the messages i have read here, have really touched my heart. i was born july 13th of 61, and met mr. cagney one night when i was but a child on an old black and white tv my parents had. the movie was 'angels with dirty faces', and to this day it is still my favorite. that night i fell totally in love with him, and still am. i will always love this man. i have a wall in my house dedicated to him, and every year on the anniversary of his death i have flowers sent to his grave. my children know all his movies, and the words to every song he ever sang, and so will my grandchildren. we must not let him, or his movies die. i am always hurt when i ask someone if they know james cagney, and they say who? it tears me up, for there is no actor can touch him. they dont make them like him anymore, but besides all that, he was a great and kind human being. i do, and will always love him. i miss him terribly, and will be happy when one day i will be able to meet him in heaven, for only heaven could hold a man like him....i love you james.....libby!!!

Bevery, You are soooo lucky to have those things. I am such a BIG FAN of James Cagney, and to talk to him, you must have been in heaven. I have been a fan since I was old enough to watch T.V. which is about 51 years. I have alot of his movies and some pictures, but nothing like you have, you are SO LUCKY. Things of his are very hard to find, I know cause I've been looking.

Hi Cagney fans! I discovered Cagney when I was 12 years old, when I first saw the movie Man of a Thousand Faces. I then began collecting everything in site and the magic of internet came along to where I could keep on collecting. I have a wonderful CD rom of him talking from his own tape recording. Its a little scatchy but very memorable, it has his brother Bill, his wife Willie and their son Jim Jr. at a young age. I also have a tape of Cagney recording for his book Cagney by Cagney, where as he speaks Yiddish and is just talking along, very nice. He is one of the greatest actors and he could play anyone and take you right in with him. No one matches Cagney!!! I had the the great pleasure of talking to him on the phone when I was 15 years old, I had just graduated from Jr. High and I had found his address, wrote to him and gave my phone number. He called, we only chatted for a short while, but I was in total shock and did not say much, he sent me a signed picture of him, it was a great honor in my life and one I will never forget!!! My Palm to you Mr. Cagney!
