To Bob: Kathleen said, "I would love to speak to you about this in a non-public forum." Do you comprehend this.

To Bob: I have spoken with Kathleen and will be meeting with her. I don't appreciate all these matters being discussed on this website.

I've not seen a copy of the MANNY script; it might be available through Dramatists Play Service or Samuel French, Inc., which licenses the majority of plays for post-New York productions. For more insight on Gladys, you might look at Edward G. Robinson, Jr.'s autobiography,
MY FATHER--MY SON.but I think Robinson Sr. was rather forthcoming in his book. What would your work on him focus on? He had a fairly dramatic private life, what with the HUAC, his illnesses, and those of his wife and son. But underneath, it would certainly be a tribute to him if in his characterization he were able to rise above all that -- as Robinson did -- and be revealed as a superb artist and gentleman -- worthy of the respect of his peers and adoration of his fans.

Thanks so much for your quick reply and encouragement. Is the play "Manny" available? I'm also very interested in Edward G.'s relationship with Gladys--any info I could get on this? (Other than what's in his autobiography?)

To Kathleen: A play about Edward G. Robinson would be wonderful. Perhaps you are aware that in the late 1970s a play called MANNY appeared in New York -- a biographical work by Raymond Serra. It was poorly received. If you need any collaborative assistance, however, I am certain Francesca would endorse my participation. All the best.
