''and which the harder be I cannot tell, to hide true love or make false love look well''. These lines are inscribed beneath a portrait of Gene that hangs in my parents living room for as long as I can remember, and now though a grandparent myself there has never been a time that Genes image, works, poise, grace and courage has not been admired and felt.

I have always admired Gene Tierney and when I read her book, I found an amazing person behind her films. My favorite film is "Laura" and my second favorite film is "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir". She was an amazing woman for her time and struggled with her mental illness at a time when not much help was available. She will always be remembered! Bernice

Will never forget meeting her, the amazing way it happen, the city where I met her. It was back in 1990 after coming to work in the insurance business in Houston. But it was not in Houston that I met her. Out of all fancy cities and fancy homes where one would expect to meet a person like her I met her in the least likely of cities, in the nearby city of Baytown, Texas. I had no idea who she was, nor did she led me know during the start of our business transaction of her great Hollywood fame. Throughout our conversation the role she played quite well was that of a very gracious lady, a lady of exceedingly good manners, just a lady entering her golden years of retirement. It was not until later, when I had finished my appointment with her, me headed out the door that I was in for one of the big surprises of my life. As I was walking out I found myself frozen immediately upon on my feet when finding a wall filled with many movie photographs, pictures of a most beautiful lady, pictures of a rare beauty from long ago that right at that time took my breath away (one photograph of her like a frame just right out of "Gone With The Wind"). Upon seeing my reaction in her most casual manner she began to tell me that was her. I asked her only a couple of questions as I did not want to invade her privacy and she mentioned that she worked with Vincent Price and several other major actors of her day, regretfully ending our conversation when she said that "all that was now in the past". I still find her beauty hunting many years later. As I write this "The Ghost and Mrs Muir" just happens to be playing on television for the afternoon Sunday movie.
