John Garfield's a cocksure crook who expects special treatment while serving his prison sentence. Warden Pat O'Brien doesn't feel that way, and Garfield's forced to learn his lesson the hard way. But when his girl (Ann Sheridan) is near death from a car crash, the warden lets Garfield out on an "honor pass". Will he keep his promise to return?   Remake of the 1932 "20,000 Years in Sing Sing".
