Caught    (1949)


Barbara Bel Geddes is a department store model who marries tycoon Robert Ryan after a whirlwind courtship. She soon finds herself isolated with an increasingly frightening and abusive husband. She escapes and gets a job as receptionist to Dr. James Mason.  Robert takes a dim view of this, to put it mildly, and is determined to get his revenge on both of them.  Scary, taught, well done movie, directed by Max Ophuls.
